River
The most cosmopolitan cities developed along the rivers, the world’s first trade routes. From iconic “must-sees” like Paris, Amsterdam and Budapest to quaint villages and towns waiting to be discovered, a river provides you easy access to savor the delights of both. Cities like Berlin, Lisbon, Prague, Vienna, Moscow, Cairo and Beijing are just a few that are accessible on a river cruise. In addition to the rivers listed above, cruises along lesser-known rivers like the Mekong in Southeast Asia and the Rhine in Germany and even in our backyard, the Mississippi River great are options.
Ocean
An ocean cruise is typically on a much larger ship usually with 3,000 to 4,000 passengers. River cruise ships are much smaller usually with 150 to 225 passengers. Ocean cruises will be loaded with activities ranging from big production broadway shows to rock climbing walls to roller coasters and ice skating rinks. Ocean Cruises sail on all 4 corners of the world. From the Alaskan waters to the Antarctic to the South Pacific to the Mediterranean. And from the Caribbean to the Indian Ocean. It is about visiting exoctic islands to old world coastlines. But as much fun exploring shore, is enjoying what the ship has to offer.

Adult
There are some ships that truely are 18 and over but there are also cruises that are designed for the adult itinerary but you can still sail as a family. There are cruise lines that have itineraries that are designed around a more mature audience with the ports of call visited and excursions offered. The ships are often built around the adult audience with the types of restaurants, lack of kids clubs and the entertainment. Family
These cruises are designed around the family. The cruise ships are built with family entertainment in mind, kids clubs, waterparks, family restaurants and maybe even a character or two. The ports of call have a wide variety of activities to see and do from swimming with dolphins, zip line adventures, or snorkeling reefs. Family cruises are all about coming together as a family and creating lifelong memories. You can still break away from the kids to reconnect with you your loved one on a date night while on the boat.
